Randall D. Howerton, MD, FACOG, FASAM, is double board-certified in addiction medicine and obstetrics and gynecology. He proudly serves the surrounding communities of Honolulu, Hawaii, at Drug, Alcohol, Mental Health Counseling & Evaluation Services Inc. He takes an integrative approach to promote the healing of each patient's mind, body, and soul.
Dr. Howerton attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, before receiving his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma School of Community Medicine in Tulsa. He returned to Washington University, where he completed his internship and residency, serving as administrative chief resident during his last two years.
Dr. Howerton has been inducted into several honor societies throughout his educational career and received numerous awards and accolades.
He maintains active licenses in Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Montana, and the state of Washington. He retains his fellow status with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He has held many hospital privileges and positions for almost 20 years.
Dr. Howerton is passionate about addiction medicine, particularly in treating obstetric patients who need medical treatment for their substance abuse disorders.
